EPA assessment proposed for Infinite Blue Energy's Arrowsmith Project

Infinite Blue Energy (IBE) has recently announced it has referred a proposal to the Environmental Protection Authority of Western Australia (EPA) for stage 1 of the Company's Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant.

In accordance with section 38 of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA), the proposal gives a description of the planned construction and operational activities for the Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant.

Up to 23 tonnes per day of green hydrogen is expected to be produced at stage 1 of the Arrowsmith Hydrogen Plant, using solar and wind energy generated at a site approximately 270km north of Perth.

Peter Coleman, IBE Chairman, describes the EPA referral as a "key deliverable" for the Company and the renewable hydrogen industry as a whole.

IBE CEO, Stephen Gauld, similarly expressed the referral as a significant milestone for the hydrogen plant, securing a leadership position for the Company as it progresses its Northam hydrogen plant, followed by Arrowsmith.

Stephen says:

"IBE has completed extensive environmental approval and studies work across the Arrowsmith site. Green hydrogen production creates no harmful emissions, and we have worked to minimise the environmental impact of construction and operation."

"23 tonnes/day of green hydrogen production will offset greenhouse gas emissions, equivalent to taking more than 71,000 cars off the road, so we are confident that the Arrowsmith Hydrogen Project has a significant net environmental benefit."
