H2X Global with Norwegian Hydrogen in New Venture

H2X Global has recently announced that it has partnered with the global green hydrogen company, Norwegian Hydrogen AS on a new project to collaborate on the commercial supply of hydrogen, and a range of innovative Hydrogen Fuel Cell commercial vehicles.

The new partnership focuses on the Nordic Region, with both companies creating a joint operational and commercial framework for the commercial fleet operators, located near the Norwegian Hydrogen sites. Through this, they have established the transition into hydrogen as the emission free solution of the future.

Bill Moss - the Head of Sales and Marketing of H2X global, explains that;

"Using Norwegian Hydrogen’s pilot plant at Hellesylt as an example, the 1,4 ton a day hydrogen production, if used to abate emissions in the transportation sector, would remove more than 9000t of CO2 every year. This would provide more than 9 million km of emission-free heavy road transport per year."

The need to reduce emissions in the transport industry is crucial, and the solutions are becoming available. H2X and Norwegian Hydrogen explains their focus in taking a leading role in energy transition to customers, with Norwegian Hydrogen focusing on enabling emission free access to hydrogen vehicles. The CTO claims to be "excited to collaborate with H2X to present a full package solution".

The transition to emission free transport through the use of Hydrogen is imperative to eliminate the massive CO2 emissions that traditionally come from the transport sector. Transport accounts for approximately 23% of all global energy carbon emissions, being one of the fastest contributors to climate change. The partnership between the two companies drastically reduces the emissions from the industry, offering fleet owners as a great alternative.

Norwegian Hydrogen entered a partnership with the US company, 'FirstElement Fuel', and the Japanese company, 'Mitsui', to build a nation-wide network of hydrogen refuelling stations. The partnership between H2X Global and Norwegian Hydrogen will boost the success of this rollout.

As per the managing director for refuelling in Norwegian Hydrogen, Øyvind Voie:

"Trucks need refueling stations – and refuelling stations need trucks. This makes the partnership between our two companies a perfect match... We hope to announce the first trucks and refueling stations ordered on the basis of this partnership very soon."

This follows H2X Global’s recent announcement through its subsidiary H2X Gothenburg AB, about the award of the public tender for supply vehicles in the 3.5T, 5.0T, and 18T categories. The first vehicles are planned to be operational by the end of 2023, with all vehicles being fully operational by 2025. This will support the production of vehicles for the Nordic regions, in line with Norwegian Hydrogen's operation of hydrogen refuelling stations for heavy duty vehicles.
