Peter Coleman to Chair Infinite Blue Energy

Peter Coleman being named the new Chairman of Infinite Blue Energy has sparked a conversation between our Corporate Finance Associate, Jack Colreavy, and our Equities Trader, Joseph Raad, in our most recent 'Corporate Showcase' podcast.

The Australian Financial Review published an article discussing former Woodside Energy boss, Peter Coleman, named as the new chairman of clean hydrogen play Infinite Blue Energy in what is thought to be his first corporate role in Australia since departing the oil and gas major in early June.

Jack Colreavy:

"Big news last week from Infinite Blue Energy, Joey. They just announced that Peter Coleman is going to be their new independent chairman of the board. Now, for those who don't know who Peter is, Peter is an experienced and well-credentialed business executive who was CEO and director of Woodside Petroleum up until June this year. Woodside of course is the $20 billion oil and gas company on the ASX.

Now, Peter's decision to join IBE, adds decades of energy experience to the board, but even more importantly, it signals to the market that green hydrogen is the future and that IBE is the Australian leader in that space. How do you think investors will digest the news, Joey?"

Joseph Raad:

"Yeah, Jack, this is a great addition to the team, you know, from an investor and traders point of view, good management and board members are vital for a company's success. For a great idea to be really implemented successfully it has to be led well. And I think that the addition of Peter Coleman looking over strategic management is really going to lead Infinite Blue in the right direction, moving forward.

In terms of the company itself, and the direction they're heading to be a major hydrogen player in Australia- I think they're on a really good track.

So, this addition really just solidifies themselves moving forward as a major player and generally in the market, you know, speaking to a lot of investors, they have seen this addition as a really good positive, and it's just solidified a lot of confidence in them of where IBE can go moving."
